Richard Charles "Dick" Hall,
Lyons--Richard Charles "Dick" Hall, 87, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Dick grew up on Hallcrest Farms in Rose, New York, where he enjoyed showing cattle in his youth. A man of few words known for his incredible work ethic, he began his working life at Jarl Extrusions of East Rochester before spending his career as a forklift operator for the Genesee Brewing Company.
Throughout his 22 years of retirement, he stayed active helping neighbors, cutting and selling firewood, or enjoying time by a fire pit. He also took pride in driving his tractor in the annual Lyons Peppermint Days parade. Later in life, he found enjoyment in reading, completing puzzles, and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills. Above all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty (Wunder) Hall; his children, Richard James (Tracy LaValley) Hall, Kathy (William) Riley, Jonathan (Kate) Hall, and Amanda Hall; his siblings, Mary Lou Herko of East Rochester and Stephan Hall of West Virginia; and his brother-in-law, Clifford Wunder of Reno, Nevada. He was a proud grandfather to Kendra (Chris) Cagle, Jack (Alyssa Hamilton) Granger, Randi (Jason) Schneckenburger, Courtney (Nathan Hansen) Hall, Ridley (Taylor) Hall, Hanna (Mark Forero) Hall, Emma (Adam) Gomez, Seth Hall, Ethan Riley, Michaela Riley, Chloe Semmler, and Elijah Hall. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren: Lily and Macy Cagle; Sabrina Hall; Julianna, Abigail, and Avabella Schneckenburger; and his expected great-granddaughter, Lenora Gomez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, Maynard and Ruth (Day) Hall; his siblings, Frank "Terry" (Alice) Hall, Dennis (Beth) Hall, and infants Kay Lois Hall and James Hall.
