Lucile Ruth “Ruthie” Matthys Lyons—Lucile Ruth “Ruthie” Matthys, 87, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Maranatha Baptist Churc, 8721 Travell Knapps Corner Rd., Lyons, NY. Burial will be in S. Lyons Cemetery. In Lieu of flower memorials in her name may be made to Wayne County Nursing Home Activities Dept., 1529 Nye Rd., Lyons, NY 14489 Lucile was born in Newark, NY on March 6, 1933 the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura Pecore Wallace. She spent most of her life in Wayne County, New York much of that time was spent in Lyons. She married Robert “Peanut” Matthys in January of 1955. They had three sons Mike, Eric and Ronnie. While she held many jobs during her life, she most enjoyed the many years at Ruspak in Lyons. She is survived by a son Ronald Lawerance (Tina) Matthys and their two sons Austin and Justin; a daughter-in-law Patricia Matthys and children Michael and Nicole; a granddaughter Heather Lorriane daughter of Eric (Maxine) Matthys; five great grandchildren Shawn, Anthony, Mykel, Carter and Lyte as well as one that is due in the spring. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends including those at Lyons Manor. She is predeceased by her parents, paternal grandparents John and Anna Bowes Wallace; maternal grandparents William and Laura McKay Pecore; two sons Robert Michael Matthys and Eric Mitchell Matthys; a granddaughter Neveah Matthys; siblings Ralph, James, Jane, Stanton and Laura. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
