J. Preston Hasel Jr.
Palmyra---J. Preston Hansel Jr., 97, passed away on February 24, 2026, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at a date to be determined at the South Lyons Cemetery.
Preston was born in Syracuse on March 6, 1928, the son of the late J. Preston and Kathryn Hansel Sr. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1945-1948. He owned and operated Hansel's Liquor Store in Palmyra for many years. He was a longtime member of the Palmyra Rotary Club.
He is survived by his daughter Kristie (Larry) Westerman, a son J. Preston Hansel III "Jay"; a grandson Andrew Hess; two great grandsons Brandon and Logan; special friends Kathleen and Roger Crandell. He was predeceased by his wife Alice in 2017 and his five siblings.
