Lyons--Harry P. Bailey, 95, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2025, at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at the South Lyons Cemetery, 1055 Route 14., Lyons, NY, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm, followed by a family reception at the Lyons VFW.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society or Laurel House Comfort Care Home, in Harry’s name.

Born on the family farm in Lyons, NY, on May 5, 1930, to Alvin and Madge (Parmeater) Bailey, Harry lived a life filled with hard work, and a love for his family. Harry married Janet (Fitch) on April 10, 1953 and she died February 10, 1996. He then married Phyllis (Catchman), who died on October 19, 2019.

After graduating from the Lyons Central School District in 1947, Harry enlisted in the Army Reserves as a member of the 98th Iroquois Division, infantry/field artillery unit.

While serving in the Army Reserves, Harry entered the workforce, working for Henry Kellogg, Newark, NY. He then worked for Tri-County Feed, and retired from Central Tractor in 1995.

Beyond his professional life, Harry was a member of the Lyons Elks Lodge 869, and a faithful member of the Fellowship of Faith Church, Lock Berlin, NY. In his retirement, Harry enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country in his RV.

He is survived by his son, Edward (Janice) Bailey, his 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harry was predeceased by his parents: Alvin and Madge; his loving wife of 42 years, Janet, mother of Edward & Richard; second wife, Phyllis; siblings: Maurice (Marjorie) Bailey, Eloise (John) Talbo, Merle (Leona) Bailey, Donald (Marion) Bailey, Floyd (Vivian) Bailey, Harlan (Shirley) Bailey, Lynden (Carol) Bailey and Robert Bailey; son, Richard (Kelly) Bailey, and great-granddaughter, Ava Sharman.
