Phelps/Geneva--Grace Carlson, 87, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Geneva General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Memorials in her name may be made to the American Legion Seeley B. Parish Post 457, 1346 NY-96, Phelps, NY 14532.

Grace was born in Paterson, New Jersey on July 3, 1938 the daughter of the late Elmer and Petronella Vanderley Bosland, For many years, she worked as a Registered Nurse first at Dover General Hospital and retiring from Clifton Springs Hospital. Grace married Carl A. Carlson Jr. on Dec. 5, 1959. They were owner/operators of the Cheerful Valley Campground in Phelps, NY. She was a communicant of St. Francis Catholic Church in Phelps. Grace was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society of Phelps, the American Legion Post 457 Ladies Auxiliary for over 60 years. She loved playing Mexican Train Dominos once a week with her friends.

Grace is survived by her husband, Carl A. Carlson Jr.; one son, Carl E. (Peg) Carlson of Oaks Corners; one daughter, Laura A. (Jeffrey) Silver of Oak Corners; one sister, Joyce Holley of Lakeland, FL; two grandchildren, Vanessa Carlson of Kings Mountain, NC, Wesley (Jamie) Carlson of W Nyack, NY; two great grandchildren, Kacie and Shane Carlson; one niece, Beth (Bryan) Bolehala of PA; and two nephews, Chuck (Natalie) Holley of Lakeland, FL and Bill Holley of PA.
