Ruth M. Leyburn

Cato Ruth M. Leyburn, 96, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Auburn Memorial Hospital. Family and friends may call Friday (Dec. 12) from 2 to 4 pm at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato, followed by a Memorial Service at 4 pm. Spring burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Cato. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CIMVAC, or to Cato Fire Department, PO Box 252, Cato, NY 13033 in Ruth's memory. Ruth was born January 3, 1918, in Memphis, a daughter to Harold and Miriam Clifton McDowell. She was a life-long member of Cato Union Church, a member of Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Home Bureau. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence, brothers, Donald and Waldo McDowell and sister, Mary and Eunice McDowell. She is survived by 3 children, Earl (Rose) Leyburn of Cato, Bruce (Janice) Leyburn of Cato and Cindy (Gene) Myers of Cayuga; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ralph (June) McDowell of Port Byron and Wayne (Zelma) McDowell of Montezuma; nieces and nephews. www.keysorfuneralhomes.com
