Jean Schoen, 73, entered into eternal peace on Friday, December 29, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barnabas Project at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2414 Route 414 N, Waterloo, NY 13165 or to Lifetime Care (attn:donations), 3111 Winton Road S, Rochester, NY 14623, www.lifetimecare.org/donate/ways-of-giving.

Jean was born April 22,1944 in Penn Yan, NY, the youngest of four daughters to Chris and Lydia Eskildsen.  She was united in marriage to H. Edward Christensen in 1965, until his death in 1973.  She remarried in 1976 to Ed Schoen, who acquired the 4 for 1 package deal!

Jean’s life reflected the importance of “faith, family, friends, and fellowship forever”.  Her deep faith carried her through many rough times in her life.  Her family relationships were core to her, and she joyfully considered friends from many chapters of life as family.  Her ability to remember names and relationships was uncanny - it was always important to her to reach out and check on anyone who was going through difficult times.

Jean was an integral part of Ed’s log home business for many years, gaining hundreds of life-long friends. Traveling with Ed for this business as well as Dairy Farmers of America and Eastern Milk Producers was an especially exciting part of her life; they were blessed with excursions all over the world.  An abundance of memories are cherished and deep connections were made.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Edwin Schoen; daughters, Heather Christensen, Kara Christensen (Bob Martin), Tricia Kolczynski (David); grandchildren, Chelsea and Jason Simmons, Carissa Christensen, Sean and Aidan Kolczynski, Bart and Annika Martin; sisters, Helen (Dolly) Luedde and Dawn Halvorson; father-in-law Robert Schoen and brother-in-law Terry Schoen.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.

Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Snyder.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many caretakers who have been part of Team Jean’s journey for so long.  She had every person’s name noted and reflected very thankfully over each and every loving soul who interacted with her -  for you all, we are abundantly grateful; your care has mattered to this family and you have beautifully touched our lives.

Arrangements have been made by Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, NY.
